| Homebrew 24/12/09 | After tasting some pretty good brews from my dads homebrewing efforts, I decided I had to try my hand at it, albeit it a little more high tech than his blanket over the fermenter in the laundry :p
I started by picking up a big old fridge for fermenting in which should keep the temp of the ferment reasonably stable since the garage can get pretty hot in summer and cold in winter.

The first brew came out pretty damn good even if I do say so for myself!

Some control of the heat pad was required so I cobled together a temperature controller, relay and circuit breaker in a box, works fairly well but I really want heating, cooling and data logging, because I am a massive geek!
Instead of buying a relay output kit I decided I was tight arse enough to build one on vero board, only had to buy the chip and socket for it.
